Meet Grace Emily

Meet Grace Emily Schara!  She was born in 2002 with what her family called the “love gene”.  Grace was born with Down Syndrome, but to her family, she was a beautiful baby who would forever change their lives! Grace had a light that shined brighter than anyone could describe. Her presence brought smiles to so many; everything she did was with pure love for Jesus and unconditional love for everyone she met.   Grace loved many things: Jesus, her family and friends, Elvis and Priscilla Presley, music (thanks to her big handsome brother), dancing, arts and crafts, acting in plays, singing in her church and homeschooling choir, and being a Girl Scout just to name a few. She learned how to play the piano, ukulele, and violin, and even tried guitar. Grace was a daughter, a sister, a proud aunt to her two nephews, a fun-loving niece, and the best friend you could ask for! Her family describes her as adventurous, a jokester, spunky, loving, pure of heart, intuitive, kind, full of life, and grateful.

 

Sadly, in October 2021, Grace, way before her time, became a Heavenly Angel and her family was devastated by the loss of their shining light. Despite their grief, in February 2022, the Schara family decided to create the Our Amazing Grace Emily’s Light Shines On Foundation. They wanted to create a foundation to continue spreading Grace Emily’s light, and love of life, in hopes to help other children and adults like her. Blessed by being homeschooled, Grace was given many opportunities that allowed her to reach her God-given talents.
